Your contemporary cottage is comfortably equipped with self contained gas cooking facilities, fresh rainwater, solar powered lights, an eco-friendly composting toilet, a cosy wood heater and the luxury of a relaxing private outdoor bath.
Huon Bush Retreats offers a true retreat; Nature is your entertainment - you will not need internet or television here. Access is via 4km winding gravel road with a steep 500-meter section. Electricity is 12-volt solar power. Phones and cameras can be charged at reception. A CD player and radio is provided. Our environmental facilities and protected forest makes the retreat carbon neutral.

Clifftop is a generous two-bedroom cabin ideally suited for families, friends travelling together, staff retreats and small meetings. This holiday home is well-equipped with full-sized kitchen, dining and lounge areas, bathroom and separate toilet, wood heater, a large deck with a private outdoor bath. The main bedroom has a queen-sized bed, while the second bedroom has queen-sized bed and bunks.
This contemporary, spacious eco-cabin is perched between a cliff and a secluded forest. The huge deck takes advantage of lofty views of the Huon Valley and spectacular distant mountains.

Wallaby Grassland is a generous two-bedroom holiday house with full-sized kitchen, dining and lounge areas, disabled bathroom/toilet, wood heater, a large deck and upstairs balcony. The outdoor space for children to play is situated on the edge of an open Silver Wattle forest.
This holiday home can sleep up to 9 people. The main bedroom has a queen-sized bed and bunks, while the large upstairs bedroom has a queen-sized bed, two single beds and an optional trundle bed. Treat yourself to an outdoor bath under the stars, a short walk away on the edge of the forest.
As a corporate or training retreat, this cabin can be reconfigured as a open plan meeting space, ideal for group events or team building workshops. With level access and wheel-in bathroom with grab rails, shower seat and raised toilet, Wallaby Grassland meets disabled standards.

On the edge of natural Tasmanian native forest, our deluxe timber and canvas tipees give privacy and close connection with nature and the peaceful surroundings. Part luxury cabin, part budget camping.
The 12 volt solar electricity system runs the lights and CD player. All tipees are free from television and 240 volt electricity. We can charge small 240 volt appliances at reception.
Each tipee has a wood fire, coffee table, sofa bed (linen, blankets, pillows and towels are provided), 12 volt solar electricity, CD Player & selection of CDs, deck with outdoor furniture. Shared amenities include showers, toilets, and outdoor two person bath. The well equipped outdoor kitchen has cutlery, crockery, pots and pans, gas range with full sized oven. This is the place to enjoy the company of an open fire.

The group/family cabin can be reconfigured as an open plan meeting space.
We are not connected to the 240 volt electricity grid (small appliances such as computers can be charged from the 240 volt system at reception). There is no television. Telstra CDMA and digital mobile phones work at most locations.

We at the end of a 4 km winding, narrow, gravel road. We recommend that you arrive in daylight unless you are used to navigating in remote areas. |

| Things to do: |
On-site activities include: a 2 minute wheelchair accessible lookout to a rainforest gully and hidden waterfall. Take the half-hour loop track and experience 60 metre tall, 300-year-old trees in our old growth forest. More challenging options also exist for the fit and experienced outdoors enthusiast.
Nearby are outdoor based activities and destinations such as: Hartz Mountains and Southwest National Parks, Tahune Air Walk, trout fishing, horse riding, Bruny Island and a wide range of bushwalks. It's 1.5 hour's drive south to Cockle Creek, the southernmost road in Australia, and a further 5 hour return walk to South Cape Bay. The Huon is home to some fine vineyards, restaurants and cafes, galleries and craftspeople, and attractions such as the apple museum. |
