Turn back the clock and experience warmth, elegance and a friendly old world hospitality in our gracious and stately Nation Trust mansion. The Elms is a 41/2 star property. It has been carefully restored to reflect the original splendour of its period. The antique furnishings and decore create an ambience such that you feel you are entering this beautiful mansion at the time it was first established early last century. The Elms is one of a number of Hobart's landmark buildings. It is entered in the Register of the National Estate as an outstanding example of a large house of World War One vintage. This lovely old mansion is centrally located 1.2 km from the CBD and 500 meters walk from the famous North Hobart "Gourmet Strip" which houses many of Hobart's better known eating establishments. Some twenty restaurants and cafes, all within the city block, offer the diner a variety of choice international and ethnic cuisine's.
Delightful gardens are a feature of the large property and a favourite place guests to relax in the shade of the lovely old trees. Enjoy a delicious breakfast between 8am -9am in the intimate atmosphere of the Dining Room with an outlook onto our beautiful English garden. The Guests Lounge is a wonderful place to relax and share experiences with other travellers over a complimentary or sherry, or a wine from our honesty cellar. This property is a smoke free property but have a designated area outside the property for smokers.
Getting There: It is a 20 min drive from the airport. After driving over the Tasmsan Bridge turn right with sign North Hobart. At round about turn right into Brooker Avenue,left into Burnett. Second set of traffic light turn right into Elizabeth Street. Past Post Office, left on the bend 452 Elizabeth St.

Things to do: We are perfectly located for the shopper with shops all the way down to the city. Constitution Dock, Salamanca Markets ,botanical gardens,and cruises on the Derwent are all just 1.2km away from us. Cadbury,The Huon Valley and of course historic Richmond are all a short 20 min drive from us.
A variety of 25 or more restaurants to choose from and only a short 5 min stroll.
