Very Basic We had believed from photos provided on the web site, that we had booked into the 4.5 Star Holiday Inn Hotel adjacent to the Holiday Inn Darwin. We arrived to find we had to re-locate to the other premises which was extremely old and around 3 Star at best. The Hotel Darwin had only booking for 1 couple instead of 2.. Ratings

A couple of pleasant surprises! Holiday Inn Darwin is pretty much what you would expect for the brand and the price range. A high spot is the pool with the restaurant opening onto a verandah next to it. A very nice outdoor setting for any time of the day. Two things stood out though: the food, and the service. I ate in the restaurant, from the a la carte room service menu and the Take Inn room service menu. Everything was beautifully prepared and presented and served promptly. Breakfast was particularly good, with plenty of choice and hot food tasting as if it had just been cooked. Customer service was excellent in every encounter: cheerful, polite and thorough; anticipating and meeting your needs. They seemed happy to help you rather than making you feel you were interrupting them. I experienced this too at Holiday Inn Brisbane. Keep up the good work! Ratings
