Not bad - once you can find the place Finding the hotel on a wet and dark night was the first challenge. The hotel entrance is off the entrance ramp to a 'freeway' and certainly wasn't the most obvious place for me to look! Once we did find the hotel, we discovered that the pub staff really didn't know how to check us in, but we muddled through it all together. Then there were no towels in our room. Then there were no facilities for breakfast. Having waited for nearly 2 hours for a manager to arrive to open the store room where the towels were located, we finally managed to get to bed. The advice is right - if you don't like loud music, don't stay here. (You can take that as a warning!) Almost every night, we had to ask for something for breakfast the next day; some days there was no crockery, some days no cutlery, some days no cereal, some days no bread. Some days a combination of nothing. Towels, despite promises that they would be, were never changed. The room was never made up. I took my own portable fan. Ratings

Alexandra Hotel Leura Blue Mountains We booked well ahead and presumed the room would be ready on the due date of arrival- the room was dirty and dusty and we had difficulty in opening the window for ventilation. I spoke with the manager and was told this is a basic pub room and I should have checked per phone rather than accept the explanation from the internet. I asked for a duster and said that we could not open the window. Had we not already paid we would have left immediately. I spoke with a staff person and asked for a fan and told of our displeasure about cleanliness we did not receive a fan despite the temperature or acknowledgement of our displeasure. Breakfast cereal was not available and when I asked for more we were told that the manager had supplied the cereal from his own ktchen and that they had run out. As we were there in katoomba for a conference we had no time to reorganise our accomodation. We cannot recommend this hotel. Ratings

Charming, cute and warm to boot! Arriving at the Alexandra it's hard not to love it's classic old-world charm. While it is true to say that the staff were rushed off their feet by pub patrons (the hotel is located on top of a popular pub) and took quite a long while to sign us in they seemed friendly enough. The room was cosy and had a lovely view across the mountains over Leura train station. When they say the rooms are heated they mean at night. So if you are planning on a warm nap when you arrive you might be disappointed! Once night comes around though they turn up the heat and for the crowd who like it hot you'll be happy, but for those who don't you might find it too hot and a little stifling as I did. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms (in the hotel) are clean. The rooms are suitably quiet in spite of the advertised 'raging crowd' on a Saturday night, and if you are looking for a great pub meal then look no further than the front bar or al a carte dining room. All in all, good value and lovely atmospher Ratings
