Good basic budget motel

An older style basic motel, where the rooms are clean and neat, and the staff very friendly. We had travelled some distance and we were not sure where things were around the town, and the management were very helpful with directions and maps etc. When we asked for extra towels or milk, etc, they were more than willing to oblige. Very convenient with a supermarket just 200 metres away across the road. A free bus service to and from the local club was also very useful. For a basic motel, and if your expectations are not any more than 3 star, this is a great motel and I would recommend it to others.

Review of stay at Mayfield Motel, Newcastle

The room was on the small side and a little crouded. Bathroom needed towel rails, a plug for the handbasin and a shelf for personal hygiene. The motel was a little away from shopping area etc. - probably best to have own transport or would need public transport to go anywhere. The receptionist was friendly and helpful and the parking right outside unit was very convenient. For more than one night the fridge was small and space for luggage limited. For an overnight stay only we were quite comfortable - we chose this motel because it was in the vicinity we wanted to be and we were not planning to spend time in the motel other that sleeping - we had places to go and people to visit and this motel suited our needs. The motel itself was quite attractive, and you had a feeling of space and not being hemmed in - off the main road but clearly visible and easy to access. Our overnight stay was very pleasant.
