A night at the Sands, Torquay We found the Sands at Torquay a nice location for an overnight getaway from Melbourne. The room was nice, new, clean and very quiet. The resort facilities were nice with a good Gym and pool. As the resort is not within walking distance of local resturants we opted for dining in the resorts resturant. whilst the deco and location of the restuarant was good the level of service could be improved. we waited some time before our order was taken and then our entrees arrived with the main meal. Overall it was a nice weekend stay but would suggest dinning in town. Ratings

Magnificent We stayed in a suite but the rooms were equally as nice. The resort is beautifully laid out, close to town and beach. Even if you don't play golf, it is a lovely place to stay and relax. Restaurant needs some work but is still nice. Service a little slow but pleasant. Food very good. Staff need educating on gluten free, as does chef. Soy sauce has gluten in it...potent stuff. Suggest a full review of menu and a simple guide for customers who have this intolerance. But overall, great. Samantha at front desk made us feel very welcome, thanks! Ratings
