Things to do: Boasting a superb tropical climate all year round, Port Douglas is nestled at the end of a peninsula. On one side are the tranquil waters of a natural harbour while the other side is home to the famous Four Mile Beach. Port Douglas is also the closest gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, a natural wonder abundant with amazing coral gardens and tropical marine life. Tour boats leave for the Great Barrier Reef daily from Port Douglas. The Daintree Rainforest and the adjoining Cape Tribulation region, north of Port Douglas, are home to some of the oldest surviving rainforests on earth.
